Age doesn't matter. Everyone sooner or later needs a Will. By the time you
have small children you ought to have a Will. Who will be the child's guardian; where will he or she live; who will
administer the child's funds until he or she come of age? These are just some of the issues you need to ponder. Not
that you have to have children to make a Will. I am just suggesting even young parents need to have one.
Just half an hour to tell us about your family. Who you want to
administer your estate; who will look after the children; who you wish to name as your beneficiaries. Mr.King will then
draft a Will that will represent your wishes and ensure that your children are cared for by a person or persons of your
choice.

Powers
of Attorney
Do you need Powers of Attorney? The short answer in
usually "yes". Maybe you can get Bye. But consider their reason. Powers of Attorney are put in place so that
someone can make decisions for you when you are not able. No one likes to think a disaster will happen to them. But it does
happen and if it does it may then be too late to be able to sign a P of A. Do it now while you are doing the Will. If the
need does arise and you don't have one your affairs may be taken over by the Government's Office of the Official Guardian.
Not a pretty circumstance. There have been cases of even a spouse being on the outside looking in while the Official Guardian
manages your affairs. At the very least your spouse will be forced to apply to a Judge to be appointed your Committee. This
is an expensive process and includes preparing a proposal of managment of your income and assets for the OG to approve. It
is wiser and a lot less expensive to simply have P of A.
There are two types. One covers financial matters; The second covers health. Should you be in hospital and not able to make
your own decisions the P of A is the one who can sign a consent form. They are the ones who decides what treatment you are
to receive or not receive as the case may be. But only if you cannot do that for yourself.
